how to add the banner to a MediaWiki instance?

I tried to add the banner to a MediaWiki instance by adding the following to MediaWiki:Common.js:

mw.loader.load( 'https://keepandroidopen.org/banner.js?hidebutton=off' );

However, it looks very bad, because elements of the wiki are put on top of the banner. Any idea what the best way is to add this to a MediaWiki instance?

You can construct your own div element (styled and placed however you like), and then include the script with the id= parameter (see https://keepandroidopen.org/banner/), which will add the banner to that particular div. That way you have complete control over how the banner is positioned and embedded.
