Custom Key Mapping
How does customizing these shortcuts look like? For example, on Windows, the common shortcut for moving to the previous/next word (next cell) is Ctrl+Left/Right, and Alt+Left/Right is reserved for Browser forward/backward nagivation.

Also, if I'm building an app for powerusers, I would also need to give some form of customization ability to end-users, with support for layers/context, i.e., Ctrl+K in Input field should insert a URL, while the same shortcut globally should open a command palette. How does your API surface-area look like for something like that.

It is intended that the key mappings can be defined at compile time and runtime.

ngx-keys
IMO if you base your library on top of something like ngx-keys, then you can focus on providing shortcut group presets specific to use-cases like grids, cards, etc., while avoiding reinventing the wheel for the core primitives, like contextual shortcuts, conflict resolution, etc.

ngx-keys may well be an excellent choice to build upon.
My initial concerns relate to duplicate key press detection mechanisms and any potential conflicts.
If there are any suggestions as to how we can make this work then please let me know.

Shortcut Keys
Look at how shortcut keys can be implemented. Currently shortcut keys are achieved by the focusly-listener and focusly-subscriber components. These components need to be embedded in the DOM to create a scope for which the shortcut key is active.
This imposes some potentially undesireable DOM elements that may not be required. There is an opportunity to have the shortcut key defined and assigned to an existing element on the DOM (e.g. a button with an action) using the exising focusly directive. This would leverage the existing signals based activation mechanism and would remove the need for additional specific DOM elements to handle this action. There is a potential issue around how the scope for the shortcut key can be enforced.

Multiple Key Assignment to 1 Action
Investigate allowing more than one key assignment for the same action. e.g. 'Shift + ArrowUp' and 'Alt + ArrowUp' both trigger the same action.

Anchor points - sometimes when navigating a spreadsheet type UI users find themselves needing to return to a certain 'anchor point'. this can be seen as a starting point or a narturally familiar entry point to the UI that the user finds useful to return and set focus to. Instead of manually navigating to such a point the user could assigng an Anchor point by a special key chord (e.g Shift + Alt + 1 ) when focussed on that UI element. Returning to this UI element at any point can be achieved by pressing the corresponding action key (e.g Alt + 1)
