Game + Server crash with Rope pully contraption collider

Context

Description:

When using a Rope Pully + Drill contraption set up, you will
In singleplayer: Crash your game and cause a soft ban on yourself if you try to reopen the world (because you crash).
In multiplayer: Crash your own game as well as crash the server. Anytime the contraption is loaded from this point, whether by you yourself rejoining, or another player loading the contraption, the server will crash.

This happens in both single player worlds and on multiplayer servers.

The Error:

The game crashed: unexpected error
Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot read field "x" because "mf.axis" is null

How to Reproduce:

Gear up a rope pully twice with a drill on it point down (I used the portable engine as power). Start the contraption, let it drill for a moment, stop it, then start it again.

Other Notes:
I saw someone say on the Create discord that downgrading Create to version 6.0.9 prevents the crash, which I have not tested myself.
