Error loading web interface

I always get this error message when accessing the web interface using the provided tailnet:

DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem.

i'm also having difficulty accessing the interface. managed to load it a couple of times, even had it running with a friend joining me. but more often than not the connection times out.
