Gulp build fails

I just tried to build the project but i'm stuck with this:

You probably didn't include the Angular 2 submodule. Does it show as empty when you ls angular?

It looks like the typings from src/angular2/ are missing. @mreis1, did npm install run in to any errors? npm install should have run gulp init for you.

@Awk34 the root angular folder is empty. @uber5001 src/angular2 is there.

Maybe describing the approach used to run the project will help to identify the problem so here it goes:
I did clone the repo, I did run npm install from the root folder to ensure that gulp was installed. Then I tried to run gulp build once again and it produced an error previously to the one described above telling me that tsc was not installed. I solved that problem by running npm install tsc -g and because I noticed the gulpfile.js was accessing it from node_modules I also did install it into node_modules by running the same command without the -g for global. At this point no dependencies were installed at src/{dependecies} and angular's folder at the root of the project was still empty.
After digging a little bit more into the project I noticed that there was a package inside src folder that had no dependencies installed yet, I did run npm install once again from that folder followed by gulp build again without success. I noticed the dependencies were being loaded from src/{deps} instead of src/node_modules/{deps} so I did manually move the dependencies to the src/ folder...

Here is another attempt to run the project.

1. Clone angular that is linked to this repository into /angular
2. Go into the folder and run npm install
3. cp -r dist/node_modules/angular2 src/angular2
4. cp angular/modules/angular2/*.d.ts src/angular2
5. cp -r angular/modules/angular2/typings src/angular2/typings (required bullet point number 2)
6. cp -r crypto/ dist/node_modules/crypto
7. cp src/package.json dist/package.json
8. cd ..
9. cp -r angular/modules/angular2/ src/angular2/
10. ./node_modules/.bin/tsc -p src (this throws some errors in console but lets keep going)
11. mv dist/node_modules/angular2/package.json tmp
12. rm -r dist/node_modules/angular2
13. mv dist/angular2 dist/node_modules/angular2
14. mv tmp dist/node_modules/angular2/package.json
15. rm -r src/angular2
16. go into dist and open the xcode project
17. run it
